Ayurvedic Massage

Ayurvedic Massage (Abhyanga) is an essential treatment for well-being; it acts on the individual as a whole – body, mind, and psyche – with the aim of harmonizing the Doshas and eliminating physical and mental toxins.

Abhyanga, the Ayurvedic massage, is a therapeutic treatment derived from the ancient "knowledge of life": Ayurveda, which originated in India 5000 years ago. In the Ayurvedic tradition, the practice of massage is a fundamental element for maintaining or restoring an optimal state of health.

Abhyanga exerts its action on the individual as a whole – body, mind, and spirit – restoring balance among the forces that govern the psychic, energetic, physiological, and structural levels, whose disharmony causes illness and discomfort.

Ayurvedic massage is a treatment that acts on the entire body using various techniques, stimulations, and manipulations, accompanied by the use of medicated oils (Tailam) applied warm, powders, herbal compresses, and natural creams, all prepared according to the dictates of the Ayurvedic tradition and chosen according to the different physical types of individuals. The oils, in particular, lubricate and strengthen muscles and joints, fortify and tone tissues, nourish, and give shine to the skin.

The purpose of Abhyanga is to harmonize the Doshas, the biological principles constituting every human being, eliminate toxins (Aama), create a positive emotional flow, and elevate the spirit. The action of the massage is not only therapeutic but also preventive as it allows interpreting, receiving, and modifying some of the messages coming from the body: it slows down degenerative processes, improves resistance to stress, calms the mind, enhances the immune system and the body's self-healing power, helps resolve issues related to insomnia, depression, fatigue, menstrual cycle, digestion, and spinal tension and contractions.
